Our Code of conduct

Integrity

• Accurate portrayal of environmental, social and governance information as a primary consideration.

• Maintaining the highest independent standards, ethics and personal conduct.

• Respecting the individuals within the organizations with which we work.

• Ensuring judgement is not affected by personal gain, profit or unfair discrimination.

• Ensuring that the policies, plans, activities or projects in which we are involved are consistent with all governing laws, ordinances, guidelines, plans and policies to the best of our knowledge and ability.

• Not engaging in conduct or activities involving dishonesty, fraud, inducements, deceit, misrepresentation or discrimination.

• Promoting, advertising and presenting services in a manner that avoids the use of material or methods that may bring discredit to the profession.

Objectivity

• Applying objective judgement based upon evidence and scientific facts.

• Not supporting, allowing or ignoring the misrepresentation of facts or issues.

• Not accepting fees wholly or partially contingent on the client’s desired result where that desired result conflicts with professional judgment.

• Avoiding conflict of interest in order to maintain integrity in sustainability action and reporting.

Transparency

• Practicing high levels of transparency in work, while respecting the related data privacy laws, the

privacy of individuals, and the accepted levels of business confidentiality.

• Ensuring accountability to the broadest possible circle of stakeholders.

• Valuing and maintaining the right of freedom of speech that is related to sustainability.

Competency

• Applying recognized sustainability standards in a clear and open manner.

• Recognising the areas in which we are qualified and experienced, and encouraging the participation of other professionals and the formation of interdisciplinary teams in areas where this will add value.

• Valuing the positive benefits of stakeholder and public participation at the earliest possible stage in social and environmental programmes.

• Rejecting partial, narrow or selective portrayal or interpretation of facts, and avoiding highlighting individual showcases and isolated practices which do not represent a balanced view and which might constitute greenwashing.
